OPEN ACCESS POLICY AND FEES
It is our core value to facilitate the open access and free use of scientific works of all types. The State Audit Office of Hungary as Publisher therefore applies the Creative Commons Attribution License (CCAL) to the articles published in Public Finance Quarterly. Under the CCAL, authors retain ownership of the copyright for their article, but also allow anyone to download, reuse, reprint, modify, distribute, and/or copy articles in Public Finance Quarterly, provided that the original authors and source are properly cited. No permission is required from the authors or the publishers.
The Public Finance Quarterly does not have any fees or charges that are required for manuscript processing and/or publishing materials.

The Editorial Board/Team of Public Finance Quarterly strictly follows all guidelines and recommendations issued by COPE - Committee on Publication Ethics (more details: https://publicationethics.org/resources).

Procedures for dealing with unethical behavior
The publisher, together with the senior editor, editors and reviewers shall take reasonable steps to identify and prevent the publication of papers where research misconduct or unethical behaviour has occurred.
Misconduct and unethical behavior may be identified and brought to the attention of the Senior Editor or the Editorial Board/Team at any time, by anyone.
Whoever informs the Senior Editor or the Editorial Board/Team of such conduct should provide sufficient information and evidence in order for an investigation to be initiated.
All allegations should be taken seriously and treated in the same way, until a successful decision or conclusion is reached.
Procedure for correcting or retracting articles
When the final version of the submitted article is finished the Editorial Team sends it to the author for an approval. After the final approval the authors cannot modify the submitted article.
Before final approval
The authors have the opportunity to ask the Senior Editor to modify or to retract the submitted article. When the authors ask for some changes the Senior Editor evaluates the requests and if they are acceptable (really necessary, correct clarification) indicates the demands to the Journal’s editor. When the authors would like to retracting the submitted articles the Senior Editor acknowledges the requests and retracts the submitted articles.
After final approval
Correction and retraction after final approval are not possible, but the publishers and editors should always be willing to publish corrections, clarifications and apologies on the Journal’s website when needed.
PRIVACY
The Journal will treat confidentially the information obtained during the submission and peer-review. The Editorial Team will not use the unpublished manuscript for their own research without the written approval of the author.
Editors that are in direct communication with the authors (online and/or offline) are responsible for keeping all personal data confidential.
The Editorial Team shall not use any personal data provided by authors and/or reviewers for own personal purposes, including those of purely research/academic nature.
The Editorial Team shall not share personal contact information (such as phone numbers, emails, skype names and the like) with third parties.
The editors of the Journal maintain the right to delete any personal data on the authors and/or reviewers they consider unnecessary anymore.
If any person/organization receives an email from the Editorial Team due to technical error or human mistake - we ask them to delete the email as soon as possible and notify the editorial office at earliest.

Previous issues of Public Finance Quarterly are available and can be downloaded for free on the Journal’s website: https://www.penzugyiszemle.hu/pfq/archive.
When the new issue is published the previous issue is immediately uploaded to the archive to ensure continuous accessibility.
